Thank u so much!

Hi,

il y a un ticket qui s'appelle Gopass1 pour ceux qui sont sous 26. Ca coute seulement 8€ de Liege à Aachen. De plus l'autostop est aussi possible, je l'ai fait plusieurs fois.

Hi all!

I would like to visit Aachen and some places around the city in this week. Now Monschau and Eifel National Park are ranked highest on my list.

I plan to cycle from Maastricht to Aachen and then heading to the park/Monschau. After finishing these two, I will go back Aachen and hang out there.

I wanna ask
- how long it will be needed to finish the park? It seems to be a large one so I think it will consume considerable amount of time. But I really want to see as more parts as possible.
- any public transportation between Monschau and the park?

Looking forward to your advice. Thanks

Hi,
there is a nice bikeway from Aachen to Mützenich (a village next to Monschau). The way is a old train route. It´s a super flat way, so easy to ride. You should visit typical Monschauer pups there are some really good ones

From Maastricht to Aachen, it is about 35 km, which takes you about 2 hours. From Maastricht to the place near Gulpen, it is almost all uphill, some parts are even quite steep, please adjust the gear properly to save energy.

Are you cycling from Aachen to Monschau as well? That is about 35 km as well, but this trip is always uphill, which you might need about 2.5 hours or even more.

I am not sure about the park part, because that is also one thing that I am gonna explore soon. There is public transport from Monschau to the park, maybe not the centre of the park. You may check the bus that runs from Monschau to Aachen, cause that bus makes some stops along the road which is quite close to the park. If I am not wrong, the bus number is 66 or 6XX something.

Thanks! Very useful information. I also checked a cycling website. There are several routes to choose. One cyclist said he came across a soldiers' cemetery on his way. Over 8000 soldiers are buried there. Do you know where it is? It's interesting to see.

Now a friend just joined me but unfortunately her schedule will not allow us to make a cycling trip. :-( I have to choose public transportation this time....but I will definitely do cycling next time. And I doubt that my bicycle is not quite suitable. I should prepare well next time.

I got some info from the website of the park. There's a wide range of things to see, forest, grasslands, water bodies, heathens.... I am so excited to plan where we would go and see in the park. Now I'm thinking if possible, we will take bus to visit Mouschau but if I will need a whole day trip in the park, we will go back to Aachen directly. I can tell you my experience after I visit the park. :-)

Anyone can share some information about the park??? Thanks.

Hi there,

I’m Kirbanu, an Australian folk/pop songwriter touring with my new album Drifting through Germany.

I'm looking for either tips on acoustic friendly music venues to perform at and/or to hear from anyone who may be interested in hosting a living room concert.

I perform a lot of living room concerts. I love them as they fit so well to my music style, which is warm, sensitive and beautiful. Something that is really important for me when I play a show is to create an intimate connection to my audience.

If you are curious, here’s a live video from a recent show in Mannheim:

And here’s one from a CS Living Room concert that I did in Konstanz:

So, if you know of any venues that may fit my style, or if you are interested in hosting a living room concert, then I’d love to hear from you.

Kirbanu

There is an old very nice tower which is used as a dorm for 5 students. They organize living room concerts once a month:

Hello Kirbanu !
You could get in touch with a dear friend of mine Julie Mottet, who has a similar profile as yours: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/julia-in-the-sky27
Maybe you can share ideas 😊

Hi Kirbanu,

What a wonderful atmosphere during your living room concerts. I'd love to experience one. I have a lot of friends who also play music and might love it.

Living peacefully in a village close to Aachen, just across the Dutch Border, with my wife and a new born baby who loves music.

Best wishes,
Roy and family
