ABOUT ME

American expat living and working in Amsterdam for the last 5 years. (yes, still loving it)

Prior to Amsterdam, I lived and worked in Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Fransisco and Chicago. Each city had its own culture and vibe.

I love strength training and swimming. I just joined the Amsterdam Upstream (Gay) swim team and our first competition is in Berlin in October 2025.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couch surfed before. I usually prefer to stay at international hostels or small hotels when I travel. In Phoenix, my friend hosted couch surfers almost once a month and I loved meeting the surfers! Before, I always had roommates that were never comfortable with the idea of hosting. Now that I'm living on my own, I can finally start inviting guests!

Interests

Bike rides, walking, public transit, singing, acoustic, music, musicals, theater, concerts, languages, craft beer, parks, lakes, youtubing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top 40, old school R&B, all acoustic music with a great voice. Top favorite artists: Missy Elliot, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Adele, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Beyonce.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived and studied abroad in Madrid Spain in Fall 2011. During this semester is when I fell in love with European culture. It took 9 years until I finally moved from the US to the Netherlands.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH- I can teach you some good weight training workout routines depending on your goals.

LEARN- I'm interested in learning of new cultures and possibly adding some places to my list of future vacation destinations. If you want to help me practice my Spanish, I would love that!
