ABOUT ME

I'm friendly and open to experience. I'm down to try pretty much anything (legal ;) with anyone who is a free spirit and kind-hearted. Down for an adventure or kicking back. I love sharing stories about travels and hearing about peoples' walks of life.

My mother taught me how to be a gracious house guest. I can cook, clean up after myself, be quiet in the evenings, etc. Please let me know how we can make this experience wonderful for both of us!

PHILOSOPHY

Find something that I appreciate in everyone I meet. It's there.

Some people will rub me the wrong way, but until I can find hope for them, appreciation of their hardships, or something we have in common, I cannot be compassionate. Compassion is much easier to hold than resentment or anger.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with my parents so I can't host, but I'd love to show people around the Bay Area- especially Santa Cruz! I have museum passes, aquarium passes, etc and love day-trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None! I signed up recently and am hoping to put a plan together before I leave for Spain in just over one week!

I love laughter; conversation; bonding while doing something active; chatting up strangers; going out to the club/bars, the movies, and/or museums; wearing costumes to themed parties; most sports; nights on the town; days in nature; using Groupons to do things out-of-the-ordinary like horseback riding at the beach, going to German beerfest; going to music festivals, dancing sober and so wild that people would swear I'm on some sort of drug.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

What I've been up to:
* This September, summited Half Dome in 4hrs, starting at 1am and making it up in time to stargaze and watch the sunrise. Did the 17-mile hike in Yosemite on a 25-hour road trip
* 2-week photography trip in Bhutan for Spring Festival
* Horseback rode through Canyon de Chelly, AZ, in full gallop with no stirrups, listening to our Navajo guide chanting songs
* sang Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Bascilica, Venice with my high school choir
* went to school in the middle of a redwood forest and camped out in a sleeping bag just to see the sunrise over the ocean (UC Santa Cruz)
