Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have not been very active in CS (partner is somewhat shy), but am open to hosting, occasionally. Had a great experience some years ago when an old friend from Seattle dropped by our apartment in Chiangmai for a week. She slept on the couch, spread all her stuff out in the Living Room, We cooked and talked and played with the cat. Minimum of touring. Ate out, had a party with a few friends. Low key, fun.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, yet.
Interests
I’m a freelance photographer, writer, pay attention to nature, to creatures great and small.
I spend a lot of time reading novels - old masterpieces and new stuff, as well, cooking and eating, of course. I love looking at fresh fruit and vegetables in the market and talking about food.
I am a partner in a granola bakery- established 2010 - which is on-site, but I’m not active in daily operations. I love being involved in a small business and have had many, mostly in the food service sector.
I have 4 cats.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love classical music, opera and great writing: novels, poetry, journalism. I read cook books and dictionaries for pleasure.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was full of awe meeting and talking with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, in India in 1965. Same goes for a trip to Sikkim in 1970 to meet His Holiness, the 16th Karmapa. The birth of my son, Sonam, in 1973, was an amazing moment. There have been a gazillion other important moments in my life, mostly small incidents and chance observations.
