ABOUT ME

Hello everybody,

We are two very good friends called Bjørn and Thomas. We are both 21 years old and from Silkeborg, Denmark.

We're both very open-minded people. We find ourselves to be easy-going and friendly folk, who enjoys the little things and the company of like-minded people.

We play together in a less-than-successful blues orchestra called Louis Long and His Legendary Blues Bandits.
We enjoy the occasional football game and support our local team Silkeborg IF (currently on a one-way ticket to 1st division) through thick and thin. Mostly very thin.
We like a pint after work.

From April 30th we've decided to ditch the wives at home and go out on a "Cross-Country Hitchhiking Trip" going from Edinburgh to Thurso, down from Thurso to Lizard, England ending our trip in London.
We hope to meet a surplus of exciting friendly people, who will make our journey one to remember.

PHILOSOPHY

At the moment we haven't got accommodation for any travellers, but once we are out of our respective apartments, we will gladly host travellers from abroad.

Interests

Playing the Blues. Watching football and enjoying ourselves.
Thomas has a keen interest in reading, writing and learning. Currently halfway through writing a collection of short stories for children, that he'll probably never finish. He has been contemplating writing a screenplay, this has yet to come to fruition.
He spends most of his time with music blasting in his ears. He plays himself, but even though he has played in ten years, he is still mediocre at best.
Bjørn spends lot of time listening to old vinyl records, while reading music history, currently reading Pete Townshends auto-biography. He also digs hitchhiking and has spent hours, days and months, hitchhiking in the western part of Europe. He has an old vintage drum kit, which is the centre of his musicianship. It takes a lot of adjusting, tweaking and playing to get it right.

Muddy Waters, The Band, J.J Cale, John Lee Hooker, Seasick Steve, The Who, Mark Knopfler, Stones, Beatles, Zappa - you name it. Basically old-school rock and blues.

Some newer material has snuck its way into our collection, so we're not musical Neanderthals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thomas has a fond memory of walking several miles through beautiful and treacherous terrain to a glacier in rural Norway. The journey, climbing a mountain and walking through snow in Mid-July was amazing and however trivial a glacier may seem - the joy of reaching it is something i'll never forget.

Bjørn fondly remembers his first hitchhike. The friendlines of the people he met. Especially an elderly man, who invited him and his travelin' mate to dinner. He rented them his second apartment and drove them 200 kilometres for free. That experience inspired him to keep on hitchhiking and he has done so ever since.

Teach, Learn, Share

We'd like to teach people how to play the blues. The blues is more than just a genre of music, it's a way of life. The blues isn't just about feeling blue. It's about expressing the small things that complicate your day. Playing the blues is a great relief. A bluesman is a content man.
