ABOUT ME

I never know what to say about myself out of the blue. I think the best is for you to discover it by yourself :)

But here is a little teaser :
I like :
- to wear hats.
- fashion in general, meaning finding the look that fits best to yourself and your mood of the day.
- to laugh (out -very- loud)
- Riding my bike, even more if it enables me to meet people and see breath-taking things.
- feeling free
- the contact with nature
- meeting people and share our experiences
- organizing things for my friends and see them happy
- see anyone happy, actually
- eating, eating, eating again (hey, somebody told me that eating is necessary to survive, what a great news !)
- cooking also (it goes together, right ?)
- doing things that are good for me, for the others, and for the planet.
And so much other things

I don't like :
- pepper
- close-minded people
And some other little things, but it's details

And the rest : it's up to you to discover it ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

Fight for things that are worth it.
Don't forget to tell the people you love that you love them.
Don't be afraid of others.

Let's get started ! In short, my name is Quentin and I study in the same place as Hélène (that's where we met danciiiiiing :D ) but I study Physics (Quantum Mechanics and stuff ;) ) and I'll start a PhD in September ! To mimic Hélène I could say that I like :
- People : meeting them, discussing with them, dancing with them,... I really love to meet new people and discover what they're interested in.
- Food as a whole : love to cook it (I'm not a "grand chef" but there are some recipes I'm pretty good at making), love to eat it !
- Physics ! And especially Quantum Physics !
- Biking : I'm not a specialist (nor an athlete) but I really like this way of travelling.
- Passionating discussions around a (chose one or more) : - fire - drink - lake
- Many other things that are yours to discover... ;)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Why do people travel ? The others, I don't know, but I travel to discover new countries and new cultures. And what's the best way to discover local culture ? To live it from the inside, by meeting locals and sharing our differences with them.

I'd love to host too, to meet travelers and make them discover Paris, that I love. Unfortunately, I did not have the occasion to do so, because I don't have enough space at home... But I hope I can do it soon !

Nice trip in Finland (August 2013) : 5 stops, 5 hosts, millions of memories ! Hope to travel that way again soon !

音乐、电影和书籍

I love reading, anything and anywhere. I can't make here a list of my favorite books, because I think I would have to update it every month....

I like listening to music, but I'm not an expert at all (especially, I don't play any instrument or sing). I don't know a lot of things in the musical field, especially in the foreign musical field, and I like when people want to share with me their favourite song).

As for the movies, I'm quite open to anything (exept bloody films, I'm very sensitive =) ).

Quentin says :
About reading, I would say the same thing as Hélène : that is something cruxial to me but what I read (mostly novels) is really diverse so it would difficult to pick a few.

About Music, I like lots and lots of genres even if I my favourite one must be heavy metal which is much more complex and diverse than many people would thought (Hélène adds : don't ask him to talk about heavy metal, unless you have at least two hours free =P)

For movies, I'm open to everything and anything : from documentaries to action movies, I love it all as long as it's good !

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have observed the stars through a telescope in the Sorbonne's observatory in the heart of Paris, by a clear and beautiful night of July. The view of Paris at sunset is amazing, and observing the moon, Saturne and two double stars was just beautiful and out of time.

I have lived with a friend for five months in a popular neighborhood in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. At first, people were distrustful because we were white people. At the end of our stay, we had been accepted for what we were, we had made friends, and the kids were not telling us "White" anymore, but "Hello". I'm so proud of that.

I would like to share my love for reading and enjoying the taste of words and voices !
If you're interested in learning the basics of French, I can teach you a little (but it's a quite complicated language...)
Currently I am learning to dance rock and it has pretty much become a passion : if you want to try a little, I'd be glad to teach you the basics (even more if I'm travelling with my partner =P)
