I am Janice from Hong Kong. I love travelling and try different things. I love to meet locals to know their culture. I like outdoor activities, hiking rather than going to party or boring sightseeing point. I am happy to go cafe or have a walk with you. I can also go hiking with you if I have time. I love animals.

I went to Norway again for 3 months to train the sled dogs from Dec-2015 to Feb-2016. I was so happy to visit the dogs again and train the dogs with sled. Finally, I can drive the sled on my own with 5 or 6 dogs team. It was amazing. I wish I can do more in the future.

In 2014, I had a one year trip to Europe. I spent 2.5 month in Norway as a helpx volunteer to take care and train 32 sled dogs. I was the volunteer for Finnmarksløpet race 2014 (sled dog race) at checkpoint Karasjok. It was an amazing and exciting experience for a city girl to learn about sleddog and sleddog race. I was really impressed by the mushers with their teams can finish 1000km. I spent another 3 month in Scotland and UK work as a helpx. I worked in a farm, horse riding centre and B&B. I also traveled to Netherlands and Ireland and met different CS.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I knew about couchsurfing from my friend. My first thought was so dangerous to stay at strangers home, or host strangers at home. I never think about participate in couchsurfing. However, a CS ambassador Hisham invited me to have breakfast with him when I was in London. He encouraged me to be a couchsurfer.

I started couchsurfing during my one year trip in 2014. I stayed in different hosts in Svolvaer, Trondheim, Bergen, Utrecht, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Chester, Glasgow, Liverpool, etc. I am really happy to meet all of them. Some of them becomes my real friends. That's really cool!
