About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn through experience

ABOUT ME

Staying caffeinated and nurturing a tendency towards rowdiness , I love all things music, especially creating it.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm going to do what I love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I wanna surf surf surf surf surf away.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my first trip to New York City, my friends and I had no where to sleep and no money to get us anywhere. We had our instruments and were playing music in a little tavern in lower Manhattan when a girl named Taran offered to let us sleep on her couch on Long Island. When we woke up in the morning, her 90 something year old Italian grandmother made us all the best breakfast I've had to date. Overall, it was a lifesaving experience!

Interests

Most of my free time goes to writing and performing music. I love bluegrass and folk tunes the world over; along with jamming with new people. I'm also in a surf punk band that plays around Atlanta.
A couple of years ago I picked up a long board and have since become really attached to the sport. I'm always down for a good ride!
Give me a good trail to hike, a river to swim in and maybe a water fall to jump and I can forget about music for a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm in to independent films, dark comedies and classics. If I had to pick three favorites, they would be Casablanca, Inglourious Basterds, and Wristcutters: A Love Story.

As far as music goes, I like a wide variety. Some of my favorite artists include Tom Waits, Gogol Bordello, The Devil Makes Three, Doc Watson, At the Drive-In, Squinch Owl, Phillip Roebuck, Old Crow Medicine Show and of course, the White Stripes.

I mostly read fiction novels, my favorite series being the Dark Tower, by Steven King. I also have a fondness for books about drifters, On the Road being a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled the Eastern United States in an American folk band, playing music for people in the streets and taverns of cities such as New York City, Atlanta, Richmond and Philadelphia.
