We are both "social butterflies," always on the go to hang out with people and be doing things. Spud is a professional musician/writer and is interested in continuing his education in sound engineering. Birte has been working at a small restaurant as a waitress. She has her degree in plant genetics and would like to pursue work and/or more education in that field. We are moving to Ireland in March. It is a place neither of us have been and the beauty and culture appear to be that which we would enjoy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We decided to couch surf because it is the best way to experience a new place and culture. Locals in a town know where the good coffee shops are and the finest drinking establishments, they know the good local artists and venues. They can tell you what jokes not to tell. By couch surfing we will be able to make connections and meet people with ease.

Interests

Of course being a musician Spud is always down for a good jam session. Birte is a photographer and loves to put herself in the position to be inspired to take pictures. We both love to hike and LOVE water. We like to find old abandoned building and things, we find them fascinating, and they are perfect for Birte's photographs. Some might call us beer snobs and we consider wind a healthy breakfast.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love music, all music. If we can feel someone has talent and or is performing with emotion we're down with it: rock, pop, punk, singer songwriter, hip hop, country.....

We will watch just about any type of movie, except stupidity humor ie Anchorman is just too far.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spud - Still living on cloud about the fact that after working job after job since i was 9 and always having music as a hobby I was finally able to quit and start working for myself playing and producing music full time.

Birte - Having had the chance to travel to many different countries and absolutely wonderful places, living and loving a life filled with adventure, as well as great people, and being able to continue that in the very near future.

Teach, Learn, Share

We both love knowledge, we look at everything with an open mind and are always looking for new things to learn. Spud can teach anyone to play anything with strings, and Birte can turn your little gardening corner into a family feeding farm with ease. We'll share anything we have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would always be happy to cook for you and leave the kitchen clean as a whistle, wait, are whistles clean? Why is that a saying? I had a whistle when i was a kid and it definitely wasn't clean, 'cause neither was me or my room for that matter. Then again i have dreads so some might argue I am still not clean. But i wash my dreads 2 to 5 times a week. Washing is critical to good dread care. I love my dreads, I have a shroom dread bead and a skull one. I put the skull one in front so everyone can see I'm a pirate. You have to let people know you're a pirate otherwise it's like having a concealed weapon. Us pirates are dangerous.... wait um... sorry. We will share anything we have with someone that will let us sleep on there couch. And Birte loves to cook (lucky me, I get awesome food daily), especially for people. So food, laughs, wine (or other beverages) will absolutely be happily shared any time.
