CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is, to enjoy my au pair year and therefore I want to make as many experiences as possible. I want to see new places, meet new cool people and feel the spirit of the USA.

ABOUT ME

Hello!
My name is Julia and I usually live in a small village in Upper Austria - and I love it there. But Austria is not enough for me. My dream would be, to travel around the world, see new places, meet new people, learn about different culures, and just enjoy it, being around something new.
In August 2013 I started my first (but not last) big adventure. I went to the USA as an au pair and so I'm living with a lovely hostfamily in Michigan!
This place is really great: nice people, good food, and it has a personality.
But of course I also want to see more than just Michigan, and I want to meet more different people.
And in my opinion (and also in most of other people who are on this website) couchsurfing is the very best possibility to get all these experience.
So I decided to give it a try and see, how this works out for me.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to live my life and enjoy it.
Staying at the same place for my whole life would be the worst for me. I want to experience new cultures, countries, meet different people. My homecountry is amazing and I love it, but seeing the same one for a lifetime is not what I want to do with my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because of living with a hostfamily, it's not possible for my to host other couchsurfers. But I would appreciate it, if I can stay at other homes.
Next year I will study in Salzburg, Austria and if I make good experiences with couchsurfing (and I think I will) I would be happy to be a host for other travelers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I already tried couchsurfing a few times and I always had a very good experience.
I've stayed in Buffalo, NY; Austin, TX; Houston, TX and it was always really great.

兴趣

Most of my freetime I spend with playing the guitar, the clarinet, meeting friends, going out, reading books hanging in front of the computer or TV,...

I am very open-minded and I love meeting new people from all over the world.
I love travelling but unfortunatelly I couldn't do it a lot till now because I attended school. But now I have the opportunity and I will take this chance and travel as much as possible! =)

音乐、电影和书籍

I love music and I listen to it a lot. I do not have a special genre I prefer, but I like hearing famous songs from unknown coversingers. So it happens that I spend hours on youtube, searching for new singers!

I like fantasy, love stories, dramas,... and it doesn't matter if it is a book or a movie. But normally I prefer reading than watching.
The last books I read were the Divergent trilogy, the fault in our stars and some books from Susan Elizabeth Phillips...so all quite different ;)

I do not really know what I am good at but I could teach about my country. Many people think when I am talking about Austria I live near Sydney but this city is about 10.000 miles away from my hometown.
And if people know something, it's just "Sound of Music".
I would like to get our culture to other people and countries.
And I would love to learn different cultures from the people I visit.
