ABOUT ME
We are a relatively young, multicultural couple (I am French and Canadian and my wife is Brazilian).
Serious on the job, my wife and I love blowing some steam going out to see a show or having a good exotic meal, but on week-ends we mostly have dinner parties home with friends to chat about all kinds of subjects (trips,...). We also have great laughs on the beach (chatting with friends again) or visit museums and expositions (depending on weather, so, yes, we are mostly on the beach meeting our friends). On bank holidays, we try to move around in Brazil (or nearby Argentina or Chile) visiting colonial towns or hiking in nice places be it beaches or mountains to enjoy the beautiful landscapes we have around here.
Curious about different cultures, we try to travel to new places (generally those that are the least popular with mass tourism) whenever we have the opportunity to be on longer holidays (once a year).
We joined couchsurfing as we are eager to really know new people from other cultures and the best way to do so is to stay at the people's places or welcome those people at our home.
PHILOSOPHY
We try not to have biased opinions trying to always make up our own opinion with objective and diversified points of views. That means no belief in mass media and a great deal of open-mindedness (at least we try hard). Having lived in North and South America, Western Europe and black Africa, I try to get the point of view of the people of the country we are travelling in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By staying at people's homes or welcoming them in our home and giving them advice about our city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Haven't used the site yet, although I couchsurfed a lot when I was a teenager in the US and Canada but also in Bulgaria back in 1990. I had the most wonderful experiences getting to know people from all social and cultural origins, getting to have a glance at their way of living.
