About Me

CURRENT MISSION

become as independent from the system as possible without losing the freedom to create beauty and a common goal with people that shine!

ABOUT ME

Easy going, nature loving, creative, curious and slightly insane in a endearing sort of way - or that´s what i like to think ( alivianada, amante de la naturaleza, creativa, curiosa y loquita- quiero pensar que de forma entrañable!)
I love making music and am an avid learner and reader, and i also find that the cultivation of the mind as well as of the body is the key to a happy transition through this world, so I also practice yoga, qi gong and am getting in to african dance... probably the one of the most liberating activities on the face of the earth...

PHILOSOPHY

Search for what is true to your heart. Take risks and most importantly...

As Rilke explains so well:

Do not be afraid to suffer, give
the heaviness back to the weight of the earth;
mountains are heavy, seas are heavy.

Even those trees you planted as children
became too heavy long ago - you couldn't carry them now.
But you can carry the winds...and the open spaces...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I have received hundreds of travellers over the years, in the different homes i have had, it has always happened because many of my friends lead a travellers lifestyle, and the word gets out when the doors are open, so i havent needed really couchsurfing for hosting, but a handful have come through couchsurfing, and im grateful for it!! Its great to have people and also travel in different ways that arent so bubblewrapped and hermetic as i view the whole hostal thing, i only resort to this when it is there is no other way.

Interests

I love learning and creating in the visual and performative arts, growing my own food and surrounding myself with good hearted people and plants, I love travelling off the grid and getting in touch with people that are creative and active in their lives with whom I can share more than just small talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

lots of classical, haendel, rachmaninoff, debussy, dvorak, mussorgsky and more! I also dig music from brasil, angola, latin countries, i was raised in mexico for a long time so i really enjoy salsa and cumbia for dancing. delta blues, Jazz, and obscure singersongwriters and composers like moondog, timber timbre, davey graham. I can live pretty much any music as long as it is good heh!
Books, I would say i like philosophical and theological essays alot as well as books on the brain, the mind, psychology, history etc, deleuze, montaigne, alan watts, hildegarde von bingen, mark epstein, etc etc... I like novels as well, havent found many contemporary novelists i like, maybe gillian flynn, margaret atwood, and for classics and not so contemporary patricia highsmith, thomas hardy, dostoyevsky, kafka, gogol, sandor marai (soooo undervalued) , etc etc...
Movies, I like Aki kaurismakis movies a lot, jim jarmusch, john waters, man bites dog was a revelation for me too, animation , specially from eastern europe like svankmajer and the brothers quay, jiri barta, etc... There are quite alot of movies i have loved, but its too long a list to get in to!
