ABOUT ME

I am a fiction writer and poet and am currently finishing up an era of my life where I spent ten years dancing semi-professionally. I've since switched my movement to yoga and peddling my bike. My wanderlust is in full blue-green algae bloom, and I feel a new era of nomadic couch-surfing coming on.

I'm an adventure grrrl. I love to climb mountains, tip-toe rocky seasides, explore drippy forests, sift deserts, and dive coral reefs. I love the buzz of cities, ancient and modern.

I love this planet. A few things on it I adore? Rocks, oceans, birds, fishies, trees, paths, nests, hot springs, conversations, cities, poetries, islands, mountains, fossils, ink, music, yoga, volcanoes, lizards, llamas, boots, roots, pottery, paint, cows, altars, antlers, sharks, vines, cenotes, stories, coffee, dance, seashells, journals, ipods, binoculars, ales, cara caras, stairs, skyscrapers, wine, artifacts, tombs, avocados, sushi, geodes, waterfalls, tortillas,and anything fuzzy like puppies, bunnies, horsies, chinchillas, and prehensile tails.

I just read Life of Pi by Yann Martel and was supremely impressed. Right now I am reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

I love any music that has something snaggy, and even though my hearing disability has stolen lyrics from me until I read them, music is still my love drug. I love Willie Nelson, Common, Kanye, K-os, Chemical Bros, NIN, Manu Chao, Neko Case, Erykah B, Eminem, Dead Prez, Radiohead, Ani D, SRV, any old blues, anything pretty on guitar, or strings, or piano, and I tend toward Bach in the truly old school.
