About Me
Hi, I'm Dr. Nehaal Mayur! As a social scientist with expertise in global policies, I live a life between continents. Mumbai is my home, New York is my house, Washington DC is my layover, and Harare is my workstation. Having traveled to 52 countries, I blend work with adventure, always seeking new cultures, low-cost sustainable technologies, and unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s deep discussions, cultural exchanges, or sharing the best parties, I thrive on human connections and the joy of discovery.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is about more than just places—it’s about people, stories, and shared experiences. Couchsurfing allows me to connect with locals and fellow travelers, making every journey more meaningful. As someone who spends life between continents, I love immersing myself in different cultures, learning from others, and exchanging ideas about sustainability, global policies, and low-cost innovations.
Whether it’s sharing a great conversation, discovering hidden gems, or finding the best parties, I value the connections that make travel truly special. Couchsurfing isn’t just about a place to stay—it’s about building a global community.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a diverse range of music, from global beats to classic tunes. Whether it's Afrobeat, electronic, jazz, or folk music from different cultures, I love discovering new sounds that reflect the spirit of a place.
I’m drawn to books on global policies, sustainability, and travel. I also enjoy thought-provoking literature, memoirs, and stories that offer unique cultural perspectives.
I appreciate films that tell powerful stories, whether it's world cinema, documentaries on social change, or classics that inspire. I also love movies that capture the essence of different cultures and historical moments.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As an observer at the United Nations General Assembly, I’ve had the rare opportunity to sit in the same room with 195 heads of state, listening to them in person as they shape global policies. My travels have also led me to witness nature’s wonders and mysteries—watching a volcano erupt in Java, Indonesia, and the Philippines, experiencing the surreal time shift from GMT midnight to noon in a fraction of a second while flying from New York to Sydney, and boating on Taiwan’s Sun Moon Lake, which astonishingly turned from land into water overnight. One of the most mind-boggling moments was watching a compass fail to work at Lonar Crater, a reminder of Earth’s unexplained phenomena.
Teach, Learn, Share
.
I have a deep understanding of global policies, sustainability, and low-cost technologies. I love sharing insights about how different cultures and societies approach these challenges. I can also share travel hacks, cultural knowledge, and great party recommendations!
I’m always eager to learn from people’s experiences, traditions, and perspectives. Whether it's a new language, a local custom, or an innovative sustainable solution, I believe every interaction is an opportunity to grow.
