About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To cultivate community and help to build bonds between people, make zines and watch all the bad cultmovies of the world!

ABOUT ME

I currently live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I live close to the beach, in a wonderful apartment that I have decorated with pink walls and art. I love to explore anywhere I am with curios, openminded eyes, because when you do, you can get a glimpse of truly unique moments.
I voulenteer at a underground cultmovie cinema, and love to watch bad movies, cult movies, art films and whatever else i can get my hands on. One of my personal faves is "Show Girls", and absolutely cult classic when it comes to bad movies. I just can't get enough of the over the top glamour and hilarious lines, it's just fantastic haha.
I work for a café as their eventmanager and have occasional barrista shifts aswell. I just started working there, but the people seem nice and I am excited to start up different kinds of events there. I love to do a varity of things and fill my time in many different ways. I am doing ceramics at a studio for a few months, and i also love to paint and make zines. I actually I am co-organizer for CPH Zinefest, we just had our 10 year anniversary in 2024. We did 5 days of events related to zines (selfpublished magazines), and it was an absolute blast!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I truly enjoy getting to be a small part of another persons everyday life for the few days I am visiting their city. I also love to share knowledge, trade zines or art, and helping out whenever i can. Hosts that would like to show me around and be a part of my trips are appriciated, i love meeting new people and trying new things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started to use couchsurfing when i went interrailling in Europe with a good friend when i was 17. We had two amazing hosts, who were super openminded and granted us some of the best experiences of our trip! They totally exceeded our expectations, and got me hooked on CS. Since the I have been hosted by a ton of great people that always keep surprising me with their friendliness. Staying with a CS host is almost always the absolute best part of a trip!

Interests

I love to be creative in all sorts of ways painting, drawing and making and trading zines. last year i was at my first artist residency in Japan, and was staying in the fukuoka area for a month to create a poetic comic zine about a local urban legend. Such a great experience, and i even got to do an exhibit once i got back to Copenhagen to present my drawings and zine from the trip. If you are curious about me and my art, you can find me on Instagram @christinelykkeh

I am very interested in the paranormal, the unexplainable, art, experimental/electronic/pop music, i collect cassette tapes and love to learn more about different cultures, religions, languages and (of course!) travelling as much as I am able to.

I am building a pretty hefty collection of tattoos, and would really like to go on trips in the future to get tattoos from specific artists around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy strange, odd, different and indie movies. Som of my favourite movies are "Rubber", "Gummo", "The Science Of Sleep" and "Howl's Moving Castle". In general i just can't help but love movies in the magical realism genre no matter how good or bad they are!

The music i listen to varies a lot (as i am sure it does for most people). I do like indie/experimental/alternative music, but also nostalgic pop bangers, corny country songs and dadrock once in a while, haha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been to several music festivals in Denmark (Henrys Dream, Roskilde), Hitchhiking, finding (and eating) the best hotdog in Denmark, Approaching and talking to my teenage idol, interrailing through Europe, exploring the hidden catacombs of Paris, being a co-organizer of Copenhagen Zinefest, organizing a very popular Twilight Cultmovie screening, learning how to repair furniture and hang lamps, going to an artist residency in Japan, going on a roadtrip to Estonian Islands, doing zine workshops and many other things that i can't think of right now!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my knowledge on zines as a tool for democracy and creativity, and talk about art, music and so much more. Also, i would like to exchange travelling experiences with people. I am open to learning and trying pretty much anything and everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook for my host, or help clean the place as a thank you for their generousity. I would also reallyt enjoy trading zines, trading art or bringing my host something fun to eat from Denmark. But most importantly: I share my company!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
