Hello! I am Andrea, I am a Costa Rican who lived in Seoul, South Korea. For almost 4 years. There I studied and worked for some time.

I like meeting people from different parts of the world who I can chat and share information about my country, South Korea, or different countries I have traveled. I´m looking forward to meeting new people, maybe share a coffee/tea and have anice conversation!

When I travel I like to experience the local's daily life as much as possible. Local food, hidden (gems) places, etc.

I love Postcards!!! I have already gotten from Finland, The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Korea, USA, China and some other places ☺️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think this is a great community with people who like traveling and with whom it is possible to have first-hand information about their country, tips, etc. Also when you travel alone sometimes need someone to enjoy a meal or just someone to talk with for a while :)

I love to experience a country through the locals daily life and experiences. That really makes me believe I am “living” an unique and priceless experience.

Whenever I have the chance to meet a foreigner in my country, or wherever I can be a host, I try to show him/her the best "hidden gems" that I have found around, always enjoy nice talk and share life experiences.

Musica, I like almost all kind of music, but my favorite ones are Rock, Metal, Latin Music and Indie. Some examples: Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Linkin Park, Pantera, Porcupine Tree, U2, Pearl Jam, Cigarettes After Sex, Zoé, Jessy y Joy, Piso 21, Marisa Monte, Tribalistas, DakhaBrakha, Florence and the Machine, and many more.

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 7 Pounds, About Time, some Disney ones (haha), The Wolf of Wall Street.

Books: Ikigai, Tus Zonas Erroneas, Cuentos de mi Tía Panchina, I tend to like self-improvement books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel for a month through Japan, as it was my dreamed country to visit since a teenager.

Volunteered in South Korea for the UNESCO Cross-Cultural Program for 2 years, where I taught kids and teenagers about my home country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be glad to teach about my country, some easy to make dishes, to show you some nice coffee shops near my place and more. Also, I could teach some Spanish and Korean useful phrases.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, first of all, we can share a nice talk, a cup of coffee or tea, share one of the most valuable things in the world which is "Time". But also I can share some snacks from Costa Rica, South Korea, or any country that I have traveled lately. As well as information about Latin America, and traveling there.
