About Me

*I am traveling until mid October so I will not be able to accept guests!*

I am an experience addict. I want to see, taste, feel, know, and do everything that I possibly can. I am addicted to nature and belong in a forest above all places. I am fascinated by the world around me, and I am fascinated by you. I have a lot of energy to discover the world, and I am always open for almost anything. I love nature more than all things and want to some day work in a National Park. It is my greatest dream. I now have a BS degree in Biology and hope to use my degree for conservation one day hopefully sooner than later :)

One of the first things people notice about me is that I'm small and quiet. I might be small, but this doesn't mean I am not strong and full of willpower! I might be quiet, but this doesn't mean I am not full of thoughts and emotions that I love sharing.

Backpacking in the mountains and seeing live music are probably my two favorite activities that I can't live without. I also love reading, biking, and trying new food and beer! I try every day to spend my time in a way which makes me feel alive and fulfilled because I am painfully aware that my time on this earth is limited and that I am extremely lucky to have the ability to experience it :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to live simply, genuinely, and honestly, I think couchsurfing represents all of these. I love meeting people with different ideas, different experiences, and different pasts. I find couchsurfing makes traveling a much more REAL experience when you stay with a local rather than at a hotel or even a hostel where people commonly mind their own business. I have hosted a few folks in my home in Chattanooga and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed each experience. Having a visitor from a far away place stay in your home really spices things up when your days can start to feel mundane! Hosting surfers/staying with hosts leads to acts of spontanaeity that can sometimes make a foreign place feel like home or (on the opposite end of the spectrum) can make your home feel brand new

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE Tom Robbins (author) and Kurt Vonnegut. I've loved everything they have both written. Jitterbug Perfume was my favorite Tom Robbins book and one of my favorite books of all times :) Other books I like: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Solitude of Prime Numbers, Ishmael, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest,The Bell Jar, Grendel, The Electric Acid Koolaid Test, I could go on on and on

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I slept in a cave on the beach of Nerja, Spain with people I had met that very day. They were so nice, welcoming, and trustworthy. They shared everything including their time. It really opened up my eyes to the ability to trust strangers (when your intuition tells you they are trustworthy). I look forward to sharing small moments with people with big hearts as I continue to traverse the earth :)

Two summers ago I went out of the country and I visited Portugal and Spain. It was the trip that inspired the rest. :) This summer I traveled to Prague, and Budapest and then toured many of the national parks in America before departing for Europe! I have also done a road trip up the east coast of America.

This fall I will be studying abroad in Grenoble, France where I will be living with a French family and learning French. I am so excited for things to come :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think some of the most important things I personally can teach other people is that introverts can be fun, that spontanaeity is rewarding, that small people (like me :) ) can have a big presence, and taking chances is too often confused with being young and reckless. You gotta risk it to get the biscuit!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a lot of opinions that I am open to debating :) I have stories and a big personality. I am a little shy at first, but once you get to know me (doesn't take too long), I really have a lot about myself that I love to share even with strangers. I love to talk but also love to listen. Also, I LOVE food and would love to take a moment to learn to cook a meal with each host... If they so please :) I am filled with warmth, understanding, and adventure, and I'd love to get to see what you're about!
