I want to know the Americas. I want to better understand what being from the Caribbean is like for people beyond Puerto Rico. How can I love so much something I don't really know?

ABOUT ME

Catholic, Puerto Rican, independentist, comic book geek, history lover, music fan and mild japanophile. I love reading, relaxing and everything learning related. I also write for fun, mostly in Spanish but sometimes I just need writing in English. I've taken a recent interest in Te Reo Māori and I'm actually trying to make it my third language. But I just recently started so I've got a long way there.

PHILOSOPHY

Learning is life. To live well is to have learned a lot, and to be able and willing to share whatever knowledge one has gained. It's as simple as that: learn the lesson being thought to you, teach whenever someone needs something you can make them understand.

I'm open to the experience. I still haven't done it, most recently for lack of opportunity. Maybe before the year ends.

Comics (mostly DC and Valiant but some Marvel and Image too), music, manga and anime, books, martial arts. I'm interested in philosophy, psychology and behavioral economy.

Movies: The Godfather, The Godfather Part 2, 10 Things I Hate About You, anything Marc Webb or Joss Whedon and the Marvel Shared Universe films except for Captain America: The First Avenger.

Music: mostly fusion jazz and 60s rock. Queen is my all-time favorite band. Luis Alberto Spinetta is a very close second.

Books: El Tirano, 100 años de soledad, V for Vendetta.

I've been coordinating my parish's youth group for something like 5 years now.

Teach/Share: I don't know that I'm able to teach much really, but I'm willing to share my knowledge in any area. What I mean is I haven't picked many useful skills like dancing (my first or second language can be a big exception for those who don't speak either and I'm willing to teach anybody a few words or whatever). Notwithstanding such shortcomings I have a general knowledge in many topics and I'm willing to share my opinions and have conversations about many things like music, education, comic books and even literature and art.

Learn: I'm not going to say I'm always willing to learn anything but I can say I'm not afraid of learning.
