ABOUT ME

What should I say about me? Firstly, that I'm an active person, I don't like being idle, even if I'm at home. Some people tell me that I have the energy of people ten years younger than me. I practice several sports, fitness, volleyball, surf. I like to learn about any topic related with science. And I love to read a good book if I have the time. I use to go to language exchange meetings, to the park, concerts, or simply to have some beers with my friends and on weekends I sometimes go to the beach if the weather is fine.

I like to meet new people especially if they are open minded or they come from a different culture so I can learn something new from them. I believe I have ease to make new friends, I think I'm not the coolest or funniest person, but people seems to be comfortable with me.

At the professional level, I recently finished a Ph.D. on robotics and wireless sensor networks at the University of Seville. A new epoch of my life is starting now living and working in Singapore as postdoc researcher in a foreign university. I would like to travel to many places in East Asia or Australia. Another of my dreams is to work in something related with space exploration.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting people from all over the world in my last months in Spain and it's been a great and positive experience. Now in Singapore I don't have so much free time, but who knows, maybe I will be able to start again!

Interests

Sports. Especially those practiced in the wilderness like surfing, hiking, kayaking, skying. I want to learn climbing, snowboarding and diving too.

Science. I have a great interest in learning new things. For example, I recently signed on several online curses in such subjects as diverse as dinosaurs, astrophysics, nanotechnology or big data.

I also love historic, sci-fi and fantasy novels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like Rock, especially the classics. I always enjoy action/adventure movies, but sometimes I need films that make you think and I usually read historic, sci-fi or fantasy novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been surrounded by a herd of wild horses. Their leader approached me more curious than menacing. As long as they noticed I was not a threat for them they continued their way. It was a little bit scary but special experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I started surfing recently and am still a beginner, but I was lucky to meet a very good teacher and I think I could teach the first steps in this sport. I'm also starting to learn Mandarin. I could also teach Spanish, of course.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Between my current job and the stressing life in Singapore I am a busy person but if I have the time I can not just offer my hospitality but show you my new city and even go to party with you.
