关于我
CURRENT MISSION
My current objective is to learn everything I can about the world that is hosting me.
ABOUT ME
I love soccer, I love listening about other peoples' adventures, I enjoy learning new things, I am studying to become and engineer, and just like my description I would like to think that I am short and sweet.
PHILOSOPHY
Hmmm....this is a very interesting question that I haven't given much time to think about. I think my personal philosophy is still in development but I do believe that we should all follow the quote:
"Do what makes you happy"
because I do not understand why you would want to lead a life that does not fill you with happiness.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am an engaging participant when I am familiar or confident within my surroundings but usually when abroad I like to sit back and observe more than I do participate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have no real couchsurfing experience but many of my friends have recommended I give it a try. The first time I heard about it I was 16 working at a local restaurant in Miami when I saw a huge group of people (all from distinct backgrounds) walk in and sit down TOGETHER! I thought it was fascinating how different they all were and yet how well they all got along with each other. After that experience I made it my goal to become more familiar with different cultures and peoples.
兴趣
I enjoy doing active things, sight seeing, LAUGHING, eating new foods, putting myself outside of my comfort zone, and exploring the many secrets of this world.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I am often described by my friends as a crazy and adventurous person. I am always doing things spontaneously because I like to live everyday as if it were my last. Often times I like to do many things in one day. But the craziest thing I have done was definitely leaving my country by myself during my senior year at age 17 to live in another country with a different family and a different school. Living in this different world for an entire year helped me become the person I am today. Often times, teenagers form their identity by the people and culture they surround themselves with but I eliminated that factor and formed my identity regardless of what culture I am placed in.
教,学,和分享
I want to learn about the different cultures around the globe. Hopefully by doing so I can improve my knowledge and global perspective. Growing up in the US with a hispanic background I have always been an outsider (even though I was born in the US). I have lived my entire life trying to find my true identity. I have traveled to my parents' hometowns, I have moved around the US, and I have also studied abroad in Spain trying to figure out exactly where I belong but everywhere I go I am an outsider. In central america they call me "el americano" in the US I am a Hispanic and in Spain I am also considered an American. In fact when I moved away from Miami to Northern USA my friends called me David (pronounced Dah-veed) imitating the spanish accent and when I studied abroad in Spain they called me David (pronounced Dei-vid) imitating the english accent. At first I felt left out but I eventually learned that all of us are different and unique in our own way. I enjoy encouraging people to be themselves regardless of what society says. Even though, I enjoy telling people about my experiences abroad I much rather learn about what others wish to share with me.
