About Me
Hey everybody!
My name is Lydia, I am 21 years old and I'm studying to become a teacher of English and Spanish.
After High School I spent a year working as a volunteer at a theater in Munich and then spent half a year working and travelling in Nicaragua and Guatemala.
As you might have already guessed, I have a great affection for theater, performances and arts. I love dancing, especially salsa dancing, and meeting new people and new cultures. Oh, and I LOVE food! Cooking it and especially eating it!
I would say I'm a pretty uncomplicated person, I love to have company but I am also very happy to explore a city on my own.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While travelling in Central America, I enjoyed staying with locals. At first, I stayed in hostels a lot - which can be fun, too - but I only met other foreigners. So when I worked for a couple of weeks in one city, I decided to look for a host family - and this was so much fun! Staying and living with locals makes you experience the city and culture so much different as you would do while staying in hostels!
You get in touch with the city, get to know secret places, thanks to first hand information of the people who live in it!
And the best thing couchsurfing: its an exchange. You get to know other cities and you have the possibility to show yours to others and along the way, you make new friends!
So far, I haven't had the chance to collect a lot of experiences in couchsurfing, but I am really looking foreward to do so!
