ABOUT ME

My name is Thomas, 30 years old, and have been traveling solo through Northern California up to Vancouver to discover the couchsurf concept. It was a fun trip and I met a lot of new people and had a great time.
My interests are music, good conversation...basically having a good time doing whatever:) looking to visit highlights (of course), beaches and do some hiking.
I think of myself as an enthusiastic person, with a lot of interests and easy rapport with new people around me. Calmness and discipline were well developed in my profession and will come in handy on my travels I believe.
I serve in the Royal Netherlands Navy, now in my 11th year, as an officer in the operations department. This part of me encourages me to travel and see the world!
I don't smoke, do not carry pets (why would you on your travels?!), bring my own towel and would like to cook for my host(s) and share a beer or glass of wine with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed two couches during my trip to the US and Canada. Was a lot of fun, you see an other side of the city when with locals!

兴趣

Listening to music, either new stuff or song I have heared a 1000 times before. Do some reading, depends on the mood if the subject is geo-policital or just a thriller or novel.
Also, to travel and see other countries and getting to know the culture and compare it to my own back home.

Jumped the world's highest bungee jump in South Africa (and a second one is walked the Great Wall in China).

I believe to be an easy going and open minded person interested in other people by default. Their culture, ways of thinking and living in the city I am visiting. My hosts will be served a self-cooked dinner, interesting conversation and humor. Furthermore, a reliable and well mannered person to come to their home and enjoy a good time. No nonsense basically.
Surfers are welcomed into my home and are encouraged to feel like it's theirs too. I will try to have as much time available as possible to show this great city and her beauties.
