Hello,

We are Catarina, Pedro and Levi, a Portuguese family traveling in a van around South America. Since the beginning we have lived our lives slowly and that is the kind of experience we also want on the road. It took a us a lot of time to plan this adventure and to gather enough money to do it, and a whole lot of time to build our home on wheels, but the funniest part was that the moment to decide to do all this was fast and natural.

After some time working in Marketing, Catarina realized that she didn’t want a life sitting in front of a computer and so challenged Pedro to embrace this adventure. She loves to cook and play with children and loves to teach children how to cook! Recently started to develop a deep interest and passion about permaculture.

Pedro loves cinema and is very interested in natural medicine. He’s the guy that will always hold on the camera during the trip. A quiet person, very observant and calm, but always waiting for the right time to show his sense of humor. Recently started to get interested in bio-energetics.

Last but not least, Levi is a 4 year old female dog learning how to be a grown up. She is energetic, obedient and expressive. She is accustomed to enclosed spaces since she used to live in a flat with us, with Pedro taking her to his working studio since she was little. She is not the dog to beg for petting but if you throw her a stick you will have a new friend.

We have 3 passions in common: nature, food and love for each other, and that’s why we are a cohesive, relaxed and calm team.

Our diet is normally vegetarian, but we don’t say no to a good fish or a good piece of meat! A value that we truly believe in is to live with a flexible and open posture. We are not single-minded, we have our ideas but enjoy watching the world each day with a renewed look. That makes us good listeners as we enjoy to appreciate the qualities of those around us. We believe that life are the stories we can tell.

We are traveling because we want to meet new people, learn and find out new places and tastes. With that said, working as volunteers is something that really make sense for us. We are curious people and the ability to build something with our own hands fascinate us. We quit our jobs not just to visit the other side of the ocean, but also to learn more about things we are interested about: agriculture, natural construction, sustainable energy, yoga, meditation and everything that is related to slowing down the rhythm with which we live our lives and to be in harmony with nature. This knowledge will make us grow as human beings and, who knows, later one day we’ll apply it in our space, like a little house with a garden or maybe a big farm!

Songs by Ney Matogrosso, Chico Buarque, Tom Ze, Caetano Veloso and others, are always one the playlist of Catarina. Be careful, it's possible that she sings it on the shower! Pedro prefers world music, specially 70's African music or psychedelic jazz. Well, but we listen a bit of all things too. It would be nice show you some Portuguese artists, and maybe you can show us some stuff too.

We don't practice radical sports, but once we made bungee jumping. And it was incredible! Another time, we made scuba dive, too! And it was incredible again, but just for Catarina this time. It's better not to ask nothing about this episode to Pedro...
