Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel quite a bit lately after years and years of not being able to. Haven't had a chance to be hosted jet but while in Zagreb I was hosting, it was a great opportunity for me to get in touch with different people and through them meet other cultures and new ideas. I was thinking then if I cannot go around the world , I am inviting the world to come to me, under my roof :) Since I moved to Ireland I had to stop because of well known housing crisis.

Interests

Veterinary medicine. Never enough being around animals of any kind :)
Vipassana meditation. I learned about it when I was traveling in Australia. Met incredible people there, learned a lot about interconnection between mind and body and how to self-transform through self-observation...I would recommend it to anyone who feels the need to grow as a person, and who is not in disillusion that it will be instant remedy which will make all the problems disappear.

Surf 'junkie'. Surfing gives you such powerful transcendent experience just like meditation. My holidays and most of my free time is organized mostly around surf trips. Again great place to meet up with like-minded people who view life from different perspective. With surfing you have little tribe/family everywhere you travel, you just haven't met them jet 😊 Like to dance but never took any lessons, adore going to theatres, museums, art galleries and concerts. I spend every possible time to read. I am always impressed how wide is spectrum of human creativity and interpretation, and also how wide is emocional response when different people look at the same piece of art or after they read same book. Love to spend my free time in nature, I prefer being around water (rivers, lakes, sea, oceans); surfing, beaches and sunsets are my way of charging my batteries. I also like hiking and road trips with an aim to get lost and not to have set plan :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen almost any kind of music, depending on my mood swings, music in combination with strong lyrics is sometimes only thing that moves me forward. I do not like opera and our regional folk music, these two hurt my ears :) I would single out authors and groups that first cross my mind: Ben Howard, Florence and the Machine, Alanis Morissette, Pearl Jam, Buena Vista Social Club, Hozier...
Movies: Into the wild, The devils advocate, The usual suspects, Mystic river, Shutter island, Sweet November, Lucy, Divergent...
Books: Antoine de Saint-Exupery: Little prince, Echart Tolle: The power of now, Sadhguru: Inner Engineering, Vadim Zeland: Transurfing series 1-6
