ABOUT ME

I am Puerto Rican born and raised in Chicago! I am currently in a perpetual state of "student" as I have embarked on my journey to a PhD in Anthropology with a concentration in Latin American and Middle Eastern Studies. I am currently traveling and conducting research in the Middle East testing my limits, making new friends and falling in love with everything. I cry when I am happy, sad, frustrated, angry, confused...I like to cry sometimes you gotta let it out, but this is mostly done in private. I wear a smile everyday, I love meeting new people, and most of all I LOVE TO LAUGH!!!

PHILOSOPHY

"No hay mal que por bien no venga," a saying in Spanish that basically means "Every cloud has a silver lining," difficult times lead to better days...remain positive and best of all SMILE!

Interests

Learning. Talking. Meeting new people. Traveling. Dancing. Taking risks. Jumping off that cliff in Akka--I have 6 weeks to get that done ;)! I am a simple girl who loves to learn, and truly believes that the world can offer you endless opportunities to LIVE if you just try...

Talk to little people, as in kids ;) they can really teach you a thing or two!

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE Star Wars, Harry Potter and I have a mild obsession with Bollywood. Independent and Foreign flicks are my favorite particularly films in Arabic. I cry in movies. Spanish music is the key to my heart but Arabic music comes in at a close second...my taste is pretty eclectic. Books??? Too many to mention, I read for a living.
