Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been a member of the Couchsurfing website for a number of years now, originally setting it up when I was in the States, but never actually used it. Staying in hostels is an amazing way to meet new people and have new experiences. However, having lived in a new city now, I've realized how so much more exists outside of the "touristy" areas. I'm searching for more "out of the box" experiences, things that the travel books don't recommend. I've come to realize that those experiences come from those people living in these places and know the more off the beaten track things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not the biggest movie buff going, something I'm trying to work on, but I love a good comedy or documentary when I do watch something.
Nothing beats a good Spotify playlist! There's not a whole lot of music I won't listen to. I'm intrigued by new things.
Just like movies, I'm not the greatest reader either, but when I find something I enjoy I struggle to put it down. Latest book- currently seeking a good recommendation...

In return, I hope to provide someone with insight into the places I've traveled; the stories, experiences, Dos and Don'ts and everything in between. I'm quite the foody and, although I claim to be no Gordon Ramsay, I will try be best to make some food, either Irish or otherwise, in return for letting me stay. Where possible, I will also try to return the favor should you ever be seeking somewhere to stay wherever I might be at that time.
