About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My lofty, perhaps silly mission in the long run is to positively impact the lives of those less fortunate in the world. Ultimately it'd be nice to collectively raise the standard of living for all.

ABOUT ME

Ah geez. It's too intimidating trying to capture yourself in an "all about you" window. I'll try though. I'd consider myself to be a caring and loving person. If I had to convey what I'm most passionate about it would be people. As vague as that may sound it most certainly is the truth. In every way I find myself most impassioned about the plight of persons around the world. Whether it be a conversation with a new and friendly face, a conversation with a not so friendly face, or looking from a broader perspective about the socio-economic state of a particular demographic-- I love people. Now that I've stressed that it should also be made known that I also love animals. I grew up with many cats and a dog in the house. I've secured an enormous amount of respect for the companionship pets offer and more so the beauty of animals in their natural habitat. Without going too in depth... I love nature, I love to hike and break with my sad tendency of being a couch potato. I love going out and partying, I also love staying in and sipping tea :) Open conversations about interests, passions, etc... are always sought after by me. I love hearing how others perceive the world around them. Last but not least I love sports I probably watch too much of them and if I were anywhere other than the United States you best believe I'd be a soccer hooligan. :)Yikes I probably should add that I'm a vegetarian. I do have a tendency to eat fish every now and then so I'm not strict in the least but its only fish that I'll occasionally eat, no chicken or anything like that.

PHILOSOPHY

So I try my hardest to arrive upon this everyday haha. I wish I had a concise and consistent personal philosophy, unfortunately I don't. I think the best way I can sum up my way of life currently is to be a positive force in the lives of people around you. That is to be supportive, understanding, caring and honest with those around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't technically participated just yet. Outside of signing up, browsing profiles and setting up my own. I do intend on staying with people on my upcoming road trip however and once I get my own place offering up a couch or space for travelers to stay. For the time being I'll only be available for meet-ups with people and chats or hikes, show-arounds and what have you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like all music. Literally every genre. Lately I've been on a big hip-hop kick. I've been listening to a lot of 90's rap such as Nas, Gangstarr, Biggie, Big L, Wu Tang, KRS, Mobb Deep, Dre, Tupac, etc.. I like everything though, this is just what I've been into lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think that this box will forever be changing (along with the others too I suppose) but for now I guess the most exciting thing I've done was attend the world social forum in Caracas. Outside of the intellectually stimulating atmosphere and beauty surrounding me it was made so special by the people I was with. I traveled with the SWP or Socialist Workers Party and they enabled me with a very refreshing perspective.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think this is probably the coolest aspect of Couchsurfing. Again, everyone has something new to share with others. There are millions of ways to perceive the world around you and I believe whole-heartedly in trying to better understand my surroundings, our surroundings, by collaborating with people. By meeting fresh faces with fresh ideas and by getting outside of your comfort zone. I wish I had a cultivated talent that I could provide to people, but unfortunately all I can do is lend my ear and advice. And give others my outlook as best I can.
