Recently joined couch surfing. I travel regularly and often with AirBnB. I'm 55, in good shape and energetic. I am divorced for 4 years and have 3 kids, 24/20/26. I originate from The Netherlands and arrived in the USA in 2001. Prior to the USA, I worked and lived in Europe, Middle-Est (Saudi-Arabia) and Asia (Singapore). I naturalized to US citizenship in October 2013.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like Couch Surfing and AirBnB because it is an economic way to travel for a longer time but also a nice way to meet local people and better understand local habits. I traveled for 30 years for business to all parts of the world but never saw much more than the typical 5Star hotels hence why backpacking and couch surfing is an interesting new experience for me.
