About Me

I'm 27, brazilian, doing a masters degree in grenoble :)

I also hate talking about myself, hence this very poor "about me" section [ sorry! ]

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

this is my first time in Europe, i've been living in grenoble since september 2014 and i wanna explore more the area - and on a student budget it can be quite tricky!

Music, Movies, and Books

[ MUSIC ] rock is my jam (my favorite bands are wilco, blur, of montreal, travis, the strokes, the killers, feist, and broken social scene) but i'm also a big norah jones fan and can sing along to pretty much any of her songs :o)
I love live music and going to concerts - but i i'm not really into electro/disco like music, it feels kind of empty and repetitive to me.

[ MOVIES ] I worked for an alternative cinema chain for 2 years, it didn't pay much but i could watch any movie i wanted for free - i guess that can give you an idea of how much I love movies! Every year I organize with a group of friends an oscar's and a golden globe's pool that have been happening for around 10 years (I totally won this last golden globe awards, with 9 correct answers!). I'm very ecletic when it comes to movies, the only line I draw is for movies like saw/the hostel, where the idea is just to make you sick to your stomach - i wanna watch movies that make me think/inspire me/scare the living shit out of me/amuse me/make me pee my pants from so much laughter, not to gross me out.

[ TV SERIES ] I wonder why they didn't add to this category tv shows... I'm a tv series nut! (game of thrones, the good wife, house of cards, orphan black, parks and recreation, portlandia, orange is the new black, etc etc etc). my favorite shows of all time are six feet under, the sopranos and breaking bad - i'm still in denial that breaking bad is over, i can't wait for the spin-off with saul!

[ BOOKS ] nowadays I only have time to read communications books for my masters, but I'm super into sci-fi/fantasy books. I read all the Millenium books (and saw all the swedish movies and the american one, omg what an amazing story, I was totally hooked and can still discuss it for hours and hours, it's so f***king brilliant!), as well as all the A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones) ones, they are INSANELY great!
One thing I have to say: I've never read any of the harry potter books and for my generation that's supposed to be some sort of unacceptable flaw, but i was just too busy reading the lord of the rings at that time! :B

Teach, Learn, Share

i'm 100% fluent in portuguese and english (lived in the states for a while), and I have a pretty good level of french and spanish if anyone wants to practice a different language of their own :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A beer/coffee with good conversation about anything and everything, and i can also make pretty decent caipirinhas (or caipiroskas, the vodka variation if we're out of cachaça) and/or brigadeiros (a typical brazilian chocolate dessert that is just too good not to pass along).
:)
