I'm 20 years old and I come from Iceland, right now my main focus in life is to travel, see new things and meet new people before I have to decide what to do with my life. I can be a bit shy at first, but I'd say that I'm a nice person and I am very respectful of others. I grew up in a small village in Iceland in the Westfjörds, called Patreksfjörður, so right now I'm really interested in experiencing very different things from that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here on Couchsurfing because I travel alone, and I find that the best way to visit new places is to meet up with locals and see what they are doing. I'm also really interested in meeting new people and making friends around the world, since it is so big and vast and I believe that people are generally nice. I love talking to strangers about their lives and lifestyles and comparing that with my own and learning from that.

Interests

I love music, museums, manners, monuments, mystery, mischief and many multiple more missions. I also really love just going to cafés and looking at people and making up stories about them in my head. I also love going to concerts and having nice dinners with friends, and I love cooking, I especially love learning to cook things I've never cooked before. So far I've mastered the French quiche and Gratin de Pommes de Terre, although not very complicated I admit. I like going out to bars and clubs and having some beers and drinks. I love both going to pubs and taking it easy, and I also like going to some crazy nightclubs with loads of people, it depends on the company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have alot of favorite music, I listen to everything really except for death metal or metal, that isn't really my cup of tea (one exception -Skálmöld).
Movies are also very many, I have a very wide range of interests, especially when it comes to culture, I love artsy movies, and I also have a soft spot for terrible TV dramas.
Books; well right now my favorite author is Salman Rushdie and I'm currently finishing his works, but I've mostly read Icelandic authors along with of course the English and American classics you read at school, and well some classical greek and latin literature aswell and some philosophical works.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I can teach you some Icelandic phrases to impress your friends, I can teach you how to make a quiche and I can tell you loads about politics in Iceland and the EU. Or, I can drink like 2-3 glasses of wine and tell you funny stories. I could also give you some singing lessons, and make you an awesome kareoke performer, I even have the dance moves (although awful, they will make the crowd cheer)

I want to learn anything! Since I don't know anything about the world I'd really like to expand my horizon.

And we should share our culture and our way of life.
