ABOUT ME

Sorry if I don’t respond, it seems like Amsterdam is a popular destination and I am not always able to keep up :)

I'm pretty international, relaxed and like to have fun, and have lived a few different places. Work full time and get to travel at times for it too, and do a bit of research. Like to do bouldering (indoors), go see live music, occasional rave, board games, gym, occasional run / swim / cycle.

I grew up in the US (North Carolina), but spent most of my childhood in Berlin, Germany. Then went to Scotland to study, followed by a year in London and 9 years in Birmingham, UK. End of this year (2023) I have now moved to Amsterdam!! where the plan is to stay for the foreseeable future. : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's been like 8 years since I last used Couchsurfing. It was great, in Greece and in Scandinavia, and to host in Berlin - but I just got out of the habit of using it. Update: Also more recently (2023) in France, NL and Scotland.

Interests

Travelling, outdoors/nature, hiking, mountains, swimming, beach, hanging out in the park, sports, rowing, good food, movies, arts, music, dogs, culture. Really vague here i know.. haha but covers some things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

natural sites, canyons in the US and an awesome holiday in those states, including trips to Cali, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, etc
a 5 week holiday in Finland and Norway with friends just camping and hitchhiking
ran a marathon

Sea turtle hospital work and other volunteering projects
