About Me
Hello lovely Couchsurfers!
I’m Nelly—originally from the fairytale city of Prague, Czech Republic, and now calling sunny Florida home since 2018. Life has been a beautiful, winding journey filled with plane rides, new faces, and unexpected adventures. I’ve traveled to over 70 countries and lived in 7 of them, and I’m still just as curious about the world as I was on my very first solo trip.
By day, I work remotely as a social media manager, which gives me the freedom to blend work and wanderlust. By heart, I’m a cultural sponge—I love getting lost in local neighborhoods, tasting home-cooked meals, and learning little bits of every language I come across.
Couchsurfing has been one of the most meaningful parts of my travels. I truly believe there’s no better way to experience a place than through the kindness, stories, and laughter of locals. Some of my most cherished friendships began over a shared meal or spontaneous walk through a new city.
When I’m not on the road, you’ll find me rollerblading by the beach, paddleboarding, trying to perfect my golf swing (still a work in progress!), cuddling my two sweet fur babies, or brainstorming a new passion project.
If you’re someone who loves deep conversations, spontaneous fun, and exploring beyond the tourist trail—we’ll get along great. I’d love to connect, share stories, and maybe even a new adventure.
Let’s make the world feel a little smaller and a lot more magical—together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is such a special community—it brings together travelers and locals in the most genuine way. I joined because I truly believe that the heart of a place lives in its people. There’s something so meaningful about staying with someone who knows the city like the back of their hand and is open to sharing not just their space, but their culture and stories, too. For me, it’s the most authentic way to travel—connecting, learning, and making memories that go far beyond sightseeing.
Interests
Some of the things that bring me joy include yoga, paddleboarding, golf, meditation, and rollerblading—anything that gets me moving and feeling present. I’m also deeply passionate about animal welfare and spirituality. I love finding balance between stillness and adventure, and I’m always open to trying something new, especially if it involves nature or meaningful connection.
Music, Movies, and Books
In my downtime, I love watching documentaries and diving into self-development books—they help me grow, reflect, and stay curious. I’m also part of a Bible study group, which keeps me grounded and constantly learning. Faith and personal growth are both really important parts of my life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve been lucky to experience some truly incredible things in my life, and I’m deeply grateful for every one of them. But the moments that mean the most to me—the ones I carry closest to my heart—are the times I’ve been able to volunteer and help those in need. There’s something so powerful about being part of something bigger than yourself. I’d love to share more about those experiences in person!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I’d love to share what I’ve learned from my travels, especially tips for solo adventuring, remote work, and discovering hidden gems off the beaten path. I can teach you a bit of Czech, how to rollerblade or paddleboard, or even walk you through a gentle yoga or meditation session. I’m also happy to share insight into social media or creative projects if you’re into that world!
Learn:
I’m always eager to learn—from different ways of living to new recipes, languages, or perspectives. I love listening to people’s stories and picking up little nuggets of wisdom along the way. Whether it’s a cultural tradition, a local dish, or a new skill, I’m all in.
Share:
I believe every connection is a chance to share something meaningful. I’m always happy to swap travel stories, deep conversations, or even just a peaceful moment over tea. I love sharing parts of my Czech culture and experiences with animal welfare, personal growth, and spirituality. If we connect over any of those things (or something totally new!), that’s even better.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m always mindful and respectful of my hosts’ space, time, and culture. I genuinely believe that Couchsurfing is a beautiful exchange, so I love giving back by sharing stories from my own journey, cooking a meal, or simply bringing a bit of my Czech culture into the mix. It’s all about creating meaningful connections and leaving a positive trace behind.
