One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
THE TOILET (20 February 2015, Genoa at the airport)
This year I am living in Bari, Italy thanks to Erasmus Programme. For the semester holiday I wanted to return to Turkey to see my family and after some researches I found the cheapest way (that is Bari-Genoa-Istanbul) to go to Istanbul from Bari but I needed to stay one day in Genoa because the flight from Genoa to Istanbul was a day later but by reason of the fact that I consumed my last money for the plane tickets, I would never have gone to hostels. That's why I needed to stay one day at the airport. In the past I stayed lots of time at the airports, so I was thinking that there would be no problem until I saw the information which was written on the entrance door of Genoa airport. It's written that 'the airport is closed from 1:30 a.m to 4:30 a.m'. After I saw the information I started being worried. ' What could I do?' . It was in the winter and very very cold. That's why I would never have waited outside and then I waited until 1:30 a.m. at the airport worriedly, without finding any solution. At 1:30 o'clock the whole passengers had gone already except me =)). The last attendant started to shut the whole lights down and said to me' you have to go away and you cannot stay here.' , and I said to him ' Isn't there any possibility to stay until morning at the airport' and he determinedly said to me 'NO!!!'. and I colleted my things and I went towards the entrance but when he entered inner rooms to shut down the other lights I run to 'women toilets' and I entered the last cabin of the toilet corridor. After some times I heard sound of his feet, slowly he approached and entered the corridor, meanwhile speed of my pulsation reached the peak point, fortunately he just shut down the lights of the toilet and went out. I went on sitting on the closet because I was not sure he left the airport or not. I thought that that he was waiting at the airport so I didn't leave the cabin until I hearded the sounds of new passengers. It was almost at 5 o'clock a.m. Waiting for 3 hours in the toilet cabin is one of the unforgettable memories about me . I am still thinking that the toilet cabin was hotter than outside at least =))
