We're two young men from Belgium on a five-month world trip around the Northern hemisphere.

ABOUT ME

We are Timotheus Vermote and Valentin Demarcin. On November 1st 2014, we left Belgium for a five-month trip around the globe. We will travel through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, the United States, and Canada.

Meeting people
The miles we will travel will only make sense through the people we meet on the way. In this era of globalization, we have a feeling we know a lot about the rest of the world and about the way people live and think. However, we wish to challenge our own world views through firsthand observation and encounters – forming our own opinions as we travel further and further. We are especially interested in finding out how people living in various places think about the future, what they dream about, and where they imagine themselves ten, twenty, fifty years from now.

Service Exchange
We are looking to travel in the manner most conducive to meeting people, and developing quality connections all along the way. That is why our wish is to actively integrate the local communities we pass, by offering our services to any person or organization willing to host us, in exchange for food and accommodation – without any money involved. This way, we want to emphasize the value of human contact over material considerations, while keeping our costs low.
