Overview
About Me
I'm a medical assistant that was granted an opportunity to volunteer at a hospital in Ghana in 2014. It got me hooked. Instead of reading about and studying other cultures, I want to experience them. I feel like there is nothing better than going to a country that has fewer resources than the U.S. and donating copious amounts of time to medical care and helping the people there feel better. During the off hours, exploring the country. I see it as the best of both worlds- I get to make an impact on the lives of those who need help while gaining some cool experiences, fun times, and new friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I go somewhere new I want to experience the culture and history of the area. I want to get to know the locals and make new friends. What better way to do that than to stay with one of the locals?
Interests
Crossfit; hiking; traveling is about having new experiences so I'll try anything at least once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a few weeks in Ghana volunteering at a hospital/nursing school. I fell in love with the country so much that I am going back. The nurses and doctors that I was able to work with were so kind and passed much knowledge on to me, my current skills were put to the test as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I was born in the south so my mother taught me that when you are in someone else's house, then you respect their home and their rules. I do like to keep things clean and I don't like sitting around too much. I come from a large family and LOVE kids (I work in family medicine currently).
