CURRENT MISSION

See the world, enjoy my friends and make new ones, help with a school in Guatemala, hike in the mountains. I have recently been living and working with shamans in Ecuador and am studying their healing methods with their sacred plant medicines. I am beginning a program at the California Institute of Integral Studies for a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Studies.

I have traveled and worked for years across the globe, always find so much to learn. Believe in giving back however I can and enjoying the gifts of life. I read a lot, am politically active (progressive)and am always mulling over my next trip.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't tried it yet. Looking forward to the experience. As a retiree on a limited budget, I believe couch-surfing will allow me to continue the travel and projects which I choose while getting to know local people in the areas I am visiting.

Being in Nature, Studies of Spiritual Traditions, Writing and Literature, Exploring new places around the globe.My newest project is to help the shamans in Ecuadors set up a foundation for ecological and cultural preservation for their ancestral lands, to protect the lands and the condors, pumas and other wild animals as well as sacred plants from the encroachments of mining companies.

Musica, film e libri

Too many books and movies to mention. But with music, I love classical/gypsy/Spanish guitar, much classical pieces, blues, some jazz, classic rock, some Middle Eastern , and some French--Edith Piaf, in particular.

Traveled around world with partner with backpack and tent, working at whatever jobs we could pick up on the way.

Any kind of advice and suggestions I can give about traveling with kids (or without kids.) I took my younger son on the road for his junior year in high school and wrote a book about the adventure in a special kind of homeschooling where the road was the teacher. If the family does not speak English as the first language, I can offer some help and conversation with English.
