About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello!
My name is Alice, I am an university student studying a double bachelor- Environmental Science and Government/Int. Relations. I am a very happy person, and I really enjoy talking to new people! I am very interested in anything environmental and energy related :)

Big fan of reading, chatting, breakfasts, hiking, camping and coffee!

Having lived in Japan for a few years and now living in Canada, I have been to international schools and have traveled around. This has meant i have grown to love speaking to weird and wonderful people from everywhere, and love learning from others! I have grown up in the folk festival world with my parents so I am a big fan of music, fires, camping and nice people :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted many people in my hometown Glebe in Australia, and I think its the best way to travel! You meet the best people, get to see the great parts of a city/town, and you can avoid the touristy areas :) I am definitely a believer in the importance of immersing oneself in a new places instead of being a tourist!

Interests

I love breakfast, that is the best time of day!! It is hard for me to identify my main interests, but I think it would be chatting, learning from others, hiking and camping!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm it would probably have to be spending a few weeks in Antarctica! I took part in the Antarctica Youth Ambassador Program, where young activists were chosen from around the world to go down to Antarctica to learn about climate change, sustainability and the importance of Antarctica. It was a pretty life changing experience. I met some incredible people, the Antarctic landscape is like no other. We camped without tents on the Antarctic ice, swam in 1 degree waters, hiked glaciers and struggled through crevasse fields :)
