About Me

This is Irene from Spain, I'm 25 and I'm working as a graphic and motion graphic designer in Madrid.

My hobbies? Street and travel photography, handball, live music, museums, local places and of course...travelling! That's why I'm here.

I have been living in a few countries (the US, Ireland, Portugal and Thailand- and of course Spain) and the thing of knowing so well the daily life of a local is what I really want to experience in every place I go.

What I expect from this is basically listen to different stories :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find Couchsurfing a great way to meeting new people from all over the world while you are travelling but above all, meeting people who know very well the place and can accompany/recommend you things to do that probably any regular turist wouldn't do.

Interests

You won't see me without my camera. I love taking pictures of all little details that make a place have an esence. Here you have some of my pics: https://500px.com/iregmerino or https://www.instagram.com/airingrizz/

I have been playing handball for 16 years. I have grown up with this team sport and now I cannot live without it!

One thing I love the most is to learn languages and be able to have conversations with locals.
During my time in Thailand I tried to learn Thai as much as I could and at the end of my stay I was able to order a dish, asking how much it was, numbers, asking for a discount (so helpful haha), asking the other's name... I was so proud of me! :D And thai people loved also seeing foreigners making an effort to speak their language. It was very rewarding to see their smile. (I was just repeating sounds but it was something :P)
