About Me
CURRENT MISSION
buy a cello and learn how to play it
ABOUT ME
I have grown up surrounded my mountains and wilderness, so love being outdoors, but at the same time I love being surrounded by people, maybe because I have a big family with three siblings I am very close to! I really enjoy learning about other people's lives and experiences and have been drawn to study foreign languages. The bottom line is that I want to understand the world I live in and have a good time doing it!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm still figuring things out. At this point, I try to be aware, receptive, kind, and open. Mostly I love when things don't go as planned and all of a sudden my life is something I never expected!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a newcomer, but like the idea of the CS2 Project. Some of my best experiences traveling have taken place with people I did not know and had no intention of meeting. This seems like a great way to connect with others and in doing so enrich everyone's lives.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have really couchsurfed only once, but have had numerous experiences where someone I did not know welcomed me to their home or showed me their city. These moments have been very positive and memorable...some of these people I am still in contact with years later!
Through couchsurfing I would love to make new friends and help others feel at home when they come to my hometown!
Interests
Some of the things I love most: getting a sudden idea and acting on it, snow & skiing, rock climbing, rafting, talking to strangers, spending time with old friends, traveling, reading so much I can't stop, writing, bright blue sunny days!,very sudden and intense rainstorms, rivers, the SW USA deserts, art, beer, playing & listening to music, dancing, the satisfaction of ending along day of adventure and being tired, silence, space...

Music, Movies, and Books
I love the books by Haruki Murakami, just the right mix of the mundane and otherworldliness. I'm in awe of everything written by Ivan Klíma. And was blown away by Michael Ondaanje's "Anil's Ghost". I would deduce from this that I like books that are a little dark and move in unexpected ways. Movies: City of God, Water, and many silly comedies. Mostly any music will do, but at the moment especially gypsy jazz, django reinhardt (i'm learning the fiddle and his fiddler is AMAZING), Tom Waits (he's a genius), Atmosphere, the Roots, Duke Ellington, the Belleville Outfit, Crooked Still, ahhh the list goes on...
