Not sure I actually have 'a mission' as such. All sounds a bit militant! Or perhaps I lack imagination!

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty easy going, cheerful, with a love of nature and outdoor sports, and a hint of a competitive streak. I like to think I'm a helpful and genuine sort of person, with a sense of humour.

PHILOSOPHY

'Do unto others as you would have done to yourself'is a philosophy you can't really go wrong by. If everyone thought this way, surely there would be world peace, nobody starving, no animal or people cruelty and general happiness all round if you think about it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not a member of any groups. Always keen to host if I can to help out my fellow travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted several times, but have offered several times more and I've surfed just once so far. I'd like to do more travelling, so this is a great way of meeting the locals and hopefully making a few friends on the way. Also I tend to travel on a budget, and just camp wild to save on accomodation costs. Couch surfing obviously provides a bit more comfort to roughing it all the time!

Interessen

My main hobbies include off road running; walking and road cycling. I love anything to do with the outdoors, so have dabbled in other sports such as kayaking, Canadian canoeing, skiing and rock climbing - all of which I'd love to do more of, but only do sporadically at the moment.
I also love dogs and all animals and wildlife in general.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I enjoy a wide variety of film genres; books and music. It depends what mood I'm in to what I watch or listen to. Among my favourite books are 'Touching the Void' by Joe Simpson, because it' ssuch a classic story of survival and I love anything to do with mountains and rock climbing.
One of my all time favourite films is the musical 'Grease'; just 'cause it's fun!

Walked and climbed to some remote places and been filled with awe at the sublime nature of our planet earth.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Being a Speech and Language Therapist I can answer most questions on the topic of speech and language development in children. (Just realised how dry that sounds - but true)!

As for learning myself - I'm always ready if the person teaching is interesting.
