ABOUT ME

My main passion in life is photography, closely followed by travel. I love meeting new people, learning new things and finding myself in new places and situations.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that living should have a lot to do with community. For being there for one another in whatever way we can. About trying to see the bigger picture and not allowing my mind to focus simply on myself as it is prone to do! I believe that you can find 'community' whereever you live and it can involve conversations with local shopkeepers to smiling at people you pass in the park to those good lifelong friendships that keep going even when you don't see each other for years!

I am currently travelling and have no couch but hope one day I will have a lovely comfy one people can stay on!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I am quite new to CS I have often invited travellers I have met to stay with me and have always had great experiences when they have. It seems it always adds something to your life when you have the opportunity to help and spend sometime with someone this way. Equally when I have stayed with people I have met it has always been a richer experience than just staying in a hotel or a hostel....and then I found an organised community that do this all the time!

Interests

I love all things creative both looking at and doing from photography to opera to crochet... These things make me so glad to be alive and excited about life. Also top of my list is getting out into the beautiful outdoors! I love camping, walking and generally seeing lots of green stuff. Oh, and cooking and eating good food!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ok, well I am a sucker for interesting world film ~(although its annoying when you can't crochet and read subtitles at the same time!) Music, I grew up in a household of people playing classical instruments very loudly all the time so I am a sucker for a Faure song, some Rachmaninov Piano music or the Elgar Cello Concerto. I also love Jazz, Latin and lots of other stuff like Camille, Gotan Project, Air, Feist, Squirrel Nut Zippers,bit worried that I also keep listening to Kizomba which I blame on living in Portugal! Oh books? Love anything that carries me away and buries me deep inside another reality for a few days!
