ABOUT ME

Let's keep things simple: I graduated as a nurse, started a second study: medical and social sciences at university, became the president of the students union, than failed my studies because of that, started working in hospitals, companies, pharmaceutical research industry, specialized in tropical medicine, lived in Belfast with Elisabeth (who studied there), worked some more in hospitals, worked abroad with doctors without borders, came back, made a film about this, started to focus on music by building my own recording studio, took classes of how to record/produce my own music (i try to compose), started working for the red cross, quit working for the red cross, started on an intensive care unit, quit working there aswell, started working in a school and here we are! In between I renovated my parents place and constructed 3 other houses. At the same time I have been studying books of integral philosophy... introduced to the world by Ken Wilber. I am just about to start building my own house, a strawbale house. And furthermore I am not sure anymore of what I am doing exactly...

PHILOSOPHY

The post modernistic way of thinking in which a lot of our youngsters are trapped nowadays is not necessarily a dead end street. I sincerely believe there is an exit to this way of thinking by learning about integral philosophy.

I surfed with different hosts in Finland, Albania, Italy, Hungary, Poland and India. All great experiences! I think it's a brilliant project that gets you in touch with all sorts of people. If you have a genuine interest in people and an open mind, this is the website for people to subscribe to.

music, integral institute, philosophy, Zazen, open minded people and my dearest :-)

I was raised with a classical background in music. My parents forced me to go to music-school. Back in the days, I cursed them for this, now I thank them on my bare knees for it! In my puberty I started my rebellion phase by throwing myself into the world of "metal". As I grew up my interest in music became a more mature combination of different influences, but mainly the classical and metal background remain. As I lived in Ireland, I got influenced by Irish folk, as I lived in Africa, I got influenced by African sounds,... Nowadays I try to combine those influences into one big soup. And I love this. The last few years I evolved from symphonic metal, to folk metal, to progressive metal to whatever you wanna call it metal. I don't like screaming that much so that kind of gets you in a nasty position when you are into metal. But thats when it gets interesting as well because you have to be selective. Anyway I consider myself quite picky concerning my taste in music.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I worked in the Darfur crisis with doctors without borders (MSF), that changed my life.

Well from a musical perspective, I have seen Michael Jackson in concert and many other really big ones but from the visual perspective of a show, nothing beats a Rammstein show!

In aug 2011 I did my first intensive Zazen retreate. This was propably the hardest and most interesting mental challenge I ever faced. To be confronted with your own "monkeymind" (as they call it) is not a happy encounter. It was a slap in the face and an amazing invitation for my soul to continue this path. I'm a fan. :-)

And ofcourse one amazing thing I see every day is Elisabeth! ;-)
