About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find something!

ABOUT ME

I'm making a stop in Lisbon, the place I adore. Here my life is flowing calm with the water of Tejo. In this city it's easy to lose the sense of time like the hero in Thomas Mann's novel "The Magic Mountain" ("Der Zauberberg") did. Should I stay here for seven years? Hmmm, why not? Now I'm looking for some inspiration for the next weeks...

PHILOSOPHY

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (John Donne)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love melancholy music like fado (Mariza), ladino music (Yasmin Levy), klezmer (Kroke), also jazz and bossa nova, world music, music that can encourage you to dance. Also Coldplay, Peter Gabriel etc....

I'm still in love with the writers of Magic Realism. My favourite are G. G. Marquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Ernesto Sabado. To that collection I add A. de Saint-Exupery, my first literary love.

Movies that touched me: "Three colours" (Bleu,Blanc, Rougue)by Krzysztof Kieslowski, Carlos Saura's music films, "Leon", "Nirgendwo in Afrika", "Lost in Translation", "The House of the Spirits", "Volver"...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Very often I admire the works of nature and the human artefacts. For me it's important to see the beauty of small things and appreciate them and their creator.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share with you my love for fado, teach you some Polish words and the basic steps of samba:)
