About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See and learn what I can while I can.
ABOUT ME
I am a 29 year old who has dedicated himself to finding jobs that pay him to travel. As a reult I have met many fellow movers and shakers and love to share experiences.
I currently work on the National Geographic Explorer as a naturalist with a focus on Glaciology (the study of glaciers) and photography. With the company I have traveled to the arctic, the antarctic and many places between and feel at home on the road (and sea).
By working on a ship I essentially "host" people all the time and as a result am a very courteous guest in other peoples homes. I have been hosted and have hosted many fellow travelers and hope to continue to do som for some time to come.
I love animals, don't smoke and can sleep through anything.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is to be as just and kind as I can in every situation and to hope for the best.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a number of people through globalfreeloaders.com but this is my first time using couchsurfing.com so I would love to offer up my place when I get home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This is my first time participating in couchsurfing.com but I have hosted and been hosted by (in total) about 10 globalfreeloaders. I have hotsed folks from New Zealand, Australia and the states and been hosted by people in Costa Rica, Germany and Cairo, Egypt.
Interests
I love glaciers, snowboarding, traveling and, perhaps most of all, photography. I combine photography with all of my interests if I can and love learning anything I can about the subject.
- animals
- photography
- traveling
- snowboarding
- teaching
Music, Movies, and Books
Dr. Strange Love may be my all time favorite movie, I love jazz and blues with a passion and have The Dharma Bums and a Prayer for Owen Meany pretty high on my book list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been out on deck through 100 knot winds in the Drake Passage between South America and Antarctica with waves crashing high over the bow. Never felt more alive!
Teach, Learn, Share
As a photographer I can pass along any photo knowledge I have. I also have been a middle shool teacher in the past so I think I do have a bit of patience on my side for anyone who is looking to work on their english.
