Karine and I have been together as a couple for 6 years. We met while living in Montreal but have moved to the Eastern Townships 4 years ago to be closer to nature.

Jasmine is a social worker working with refugees. Karine is a carpenter working on big commercial or smaller residential projects. We are both left-leaning and social justice oriented, striving to do our best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have been a part of the Couchsurfing community for over 15 years and it has provided us with many opportunities to meet great people and get a sneak peek into the life of locals. Now we would like to pay it forward :)

Interests

Jasmine: reading, coffee shops, thrifting, swimming in lakes, hanging with friends and family

Karine: gardening, building things, dancing

Music, Movies, and Books

Jasmine: A lot of radio but love a good dancing tune. I like contemporary fiction and graphic novels. I don't discriminate with movies, I'll watch documentaries, blockbusters and foreign films.

Karine: I love funk music, reading the news and movies where I can learn something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jasmine: Living a year with the Cree Nation of Eeyou Itchee in Northern Quebec, by the James Bay.

Karine: Spending many months in Columbia and developing a relationship with a family who owns an artisanly-run coffee farm in the forested mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

Karine has great woodworking, carpentry and gardening skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are respectful of spaces and tidy. We will come with our groceries and will offer to cook at least one meal!
