ABOUT ME

I live together with my girlfriend, Barbara Jüsy, in Berne.
I love going outdoors - hiking, biking, slacklining, etc. Apart from that, my two jobs very much influence my free time as well: I teach German and English literature and I'm a meditation teacher. Thus, I spend quite a bit of time reading and meditating.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed many great couches in the US during a 6-month trip all around North America; I surfed couches in Europe on an Interrail-trip with a friend; and I hosted people in Berne. All in all Couchsurfing made things possible that otherwise would have remained dreams.

Interests

Literature, obviously, but also films - very in combination with the question of how to teach them.
Apart from that, I'm extremely interested in meditation and before I go to South America I will spend 2 months in a meditation retreat in Thailand. Even though the retreat will be inspired by Buddhist teachings, I don't consider myself 'Buddhist' - I'm just very curious about the very practical and scientifically proven aspects of meditation. I regard Buddhism as such simply as a very sophisticated philsophy, but not as a religion.
