Interests

I love eating, writing, reading, drinking, listening to music, and repeating this cycle. Let me break it down:

I make a mean spaghetti alla carbonara and spaghetti alla diavola (bravissimo!) I pour a damn good beer, and I've gotten a brewing kit as well!

Music, Movies, and Books

there really are too many...i'll just touch on a few:

I'm a massive fan of (in my mind) the two greatest of the Russian writers: Chekhov and Nabokov. Does it get better than Speak, Memory? Lolita? Lady with the Pet Dog? As an aspiring writer I have nightmares about their quality. I enjoy many other novelists, as well: Pamuk, Coetzee, Joyce, and Nin come to mind. Fantasy is what first got me into reading really; I still love Robert Jordan (and his never ending series..); Rothfuss' Name of the Wind is the best book I read in the past year! So good.

as for movies, anything with edward norton or johnny depp. gladiator, trainspotting, fight club, and tokyo story come to mind. i've always been too impatient to really watch movies though.

music is vital to my life. I like a ton of different things, though I'm not too keen on jazz. i've always felt jazz is trying to hard...it's weird, i know, but meh.
