About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing my thesis while trying to stay sane through making international friends

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly, open-minded, not yet fully grown up guy who loves to travel.
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and to get to know their point of view on things.
I am not much of a party guy though and don't drink or smoke. - And even if you cannot believe it, I am leading a happy life anyway. ;-)

I am currently studying "M.A. Entrepreneurship & Tourism" in Innsbruck, Austria, but seek employment or a Ph.D. program overseas (Oceania/Asia).

PHILOSOPHY

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
— Chris McCandless

"A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I only couchsurfed a couple times and only hosted a couple of friends when I had the chance (no random cs yet), but would now like to increase my CS-participation!
As meeting people from around the globe is the best part of travelling, I thoroughly enjoy the principle of couchsurfing that brings people from different places and cultures together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only hosted people that I have previously met abroad so far, but was hosted three times. Always great experiences!!

Interests

I enjoy activities like travelling, sports, reading and photography.

I like to be spontaneous and active, but enjoy to sit down and read a good book as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I love to read and have lots of favorite books such as everything from Barry Eisler and Harlan Coben (crime fiction), Haruki Murakami, Lian Hearn, Walter Moers and a lot more. Also, I love the comic Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Waterson

Movies:
Into the Wild, Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happines, The Beach, A Beautiful Mind, Last Samurai, Taken, Love actually

With music, it's hard to say, cause I like most music, depending on my mood, really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't single out a specific experience (I am very fortunate to have had many fantastic experiences). I am happy to tell you about some of them in person and to hear about your amazing experiences too!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to know anything about working holidays in Australia, New Zealand or Japan, you're very welcome to ask me and I'll certainly give you as much information as I can. Otherwise I am sure there is a lot more to talk about and to learn from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely help anyone out with German or English language skills and I enjoy conversing in general. Knowledge exchange during conversation will naturally occur, even if we talk about simple things. I love to talk about travel experiences and intercultural encounters along the way.
