About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i am truly a nomad/transient right now. my current mission is to get out of the city for awhile, enjoy my solitude while opening new doors and opportinities!

ABOUT ME

Well,I enjoy the outdoors(I suppose that's obvious)and seemingly flip a 'camp-mode' switch whenever im in the woods for more than 24 hrs.I do appreciate a good night on the town, good show,or whatever flies my way(or whatever i find in it!)!
I have high expectations of my'friends'. I believe you should treat others how you want to be treated.Hard to find that in the true sense these days. Ilove a good laugh therefore i try to surround myself/attract people with a good sense of humor.I also really appreciate a good introspective conversation regularly.

PHILOSOPHY

wow.there is alot to put here. a basic layout would be...
1.)you are your own worste critic, and best entertainment
2.)the cliche' yet true"do onto others"
3.)karma can be sweet...or a total b*#ch,depending on how you treat her.
4.)it's not neccesarily about the destination,it's about the journey
5.)blood is thicker than water
6.)things are only considered a 'mistake' if you learned nothing from the experience
7.)s*#t happens!really, it does.
8.)not everyone can be saved.know how deeply involved to get and when to give up,or you'll need saving too.more importantly...
9.)you can only REALLY save yourself
10.)take what you need and leave the rest behind

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only just signed up for this,I've heard alot about it and am excited to see just how these things work!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always had a soft spot for travelers. I've had numerous transient friends and company stay with me before.I've even picked up hitchikers for rides,or to bring them to my place to get cleaned up,have a hot meal, and some interraction before they go on their way again.Whenever i can afford it I'll help a traveler financially.Although i am usually pretty broke. But i'll take them out for a night on the town or buy them a few drinks at a bar. I guess the usual, let them in on local secrets.(where they can camp, feedings, popular hang-outs)

Interests

I love live music! Just about any kind really. I love music festivals, the outdoors, camping, fishing, good food, cooking, learning new things, helping people with thier problems, travel, meeting a potential new friend, making connections with people, adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

i don't read much, but when i do i hate to say i enjoy an easy read.a few i have enjoyed semi-recently were 'A walk in the woods','kill two birds, and get stoned',Carl Hiassen books...like i said,i'll have to add to the books part.
I think Idiocracy is hilarious and true. i reccomend seeing it. i like cult classics quite a bit. Most any comedy,or romantic comedy.it's hard to say b/c i don't really have a 'type' per se,it kinda depends on the flick or my mood.
as far as music goes, geez, where to begin?!i tend to lean toward the 'non-mainstream' types of music.so probably why i like festivals so much, they usually have a great aclectic colaboration of local, and widespread underground music. I honestly like a little bit of everything though!i like indie rock quite a bit. Modest Mouse,The Black Keys,That One Guy...bluegrass,some punk rock(the more musical type,i have a hard time with the noise rock stuff)LOVE Irish sounding anything....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

when i was in 8th grade i had a dream to pack up a van and travel the U.S. then i was 18 i broke down and cried, thinking there was no way i could ever pull off such a feat. a year later my boyfriend at the time and i sold most of our stuff, got out of our lease, packed a donated van and did it! i guess this was only the beginning!we spent 8-9 mo. going all around the north and northwest seeing sights, meeting people, going to shows so on and so on.
now here i am,ALONE doing it even better...WOW.

Teach, Learn, Share

as far as camping, i made my own stove. isopropyl burning, with no working parts. i can fly with this and buy fuel ANYWHERE.it's best for boiling but if your patient i think you could probably use it to cook most anything.you can find a template on Zenstoves.com.
i find the most versitile thing to carry would be bandanas.i keep at least3-4 w/ me in my pack.(use your imagination, extra head warmth,bib,sweat-wiper,plate,dishtowel,washcloth,bandage...etc.etc.)
hitchiking, look like you want the ride but don't NEED it.aloofness has worked for me.
talk to people!you would be amazed what you can come across through simple communication and networking!we all found couchsurfers, right?
