Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.
ABOUT ME
My mission in life is to share the ecstatic wonder that I experience as a conscious outgrowth of the cosmos turned round to contemplate itself. :)
I'm also trying to help figure out how we can sustain and advance this grand human experiment, without destroying our ecological support systems.
PHILOSOPHY
Deep ecology, systems theory, and Buddhism by way of Alan Watts
"We are but whirlpools in a river of ever-flowing water. We are not stuff that abides, but patterns that perpetuate themselves." -- Norbert Wiener, father of cybernetics
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing in 2009, and I've had some wonderful experiences staying with real people while traveling! My current living situation has shifted such that it's not making sense to host visitors at this time, and I'm keeping this profile up for now to see if and when that might shift.

- Making things from the materials at hand
- Catalyzing creative problem-solving
- Identifying bugs, plants, and edible wild mushrooms
- Foraging and fermentation projects
- Playing kazoo! (And other odd instruments)
